Thursday, August 10, in front of his wife, his family, his friends, the flag bearers of the union and the section, and the president of “Les Amis de La Martinerie”, Bertrand GIRAUD, departmental president of the Military Medalists, presented the 50 years honor diploma for the Military Medal to Jean-Claude DEHAYES..

This decoration had been awarded to him in 1973 by the CISM corps commander, Colonel ESTABLIE.

Born on 13-02-1937, former child of the troop of Le Mans 50-54 (classmate of General Toulouse), Jean-Claude Dehayes joined the military in February 1955.

After a stint at the 136th CLRM in Landau followed by a stay in Algeria, he was in Bourges, training as an ALAT mechanic, but an ear problem led him to change specialty and he subsequently moved to Montpellier as a trainee at the Military School of Administration.

In 1969 he was assigned to the Oberkirch mess, then in 1971 to the “Ecole Militaire” mess in Paris.

He joined La Martinerie in 1973 as an accountant in the army food service program.

He retired from active duty in 1981.
