Resulting from a partnership with SOFEMA, a company based on the La Martinerie site, the renovation of the EBR, entrusted to “Les Amis de La Martinerie” by the managers of the Saumur Armored Vehicle Museum, took place this Wednesday, September 3rd.
This temporary departure from “la Maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” for renovation should give a new visual boost to this vehicle, which has been widely used by the French army since the early 1950s.
Châteauroux Métropole will take advantage of this renovation to create a clean slab to improve the vehicle's conservation conditions.
A quick reminder: this vehicle, intended for armored reconnaissance, was used by the French army from 1951 to 1984. 1,202 EBRs were built by the Panhard company.
If any of you are specialists, they would be welcome to help with the renovation.
A big thank you to SOFEMA and Châteauroux Métropole for their partnership.
