The renovation of Building 001 continues. This Thursday, November 3, a team of volunteers was on the site of “la maison de la mémoire militaire” to evacuate the old glass wool insulation from the ceilings and to replace, part of it, by a better one.
After having insulated 150 m2 thanks to a donation of insulating plates by the company TPO, our volunteers will be able to insulate an additional 300 m2 with glass wool purchased with the association's own funds. We will have 300 m2 left to insulate in 2023, as the association's finances do not allow us to do so in 2022.
This operation was made possible thanks to the support of Châteauroux Métropole, which provided us with a dumpster and paid for the evacuation costs, to the great availability of Pascal Jousse, director of the roofing company "Le Bois au naturel" from Montierchaume, which took charge of moving the roof panels, a tricky operation due to their age (they date back to the American era), to the Loxam company, which provided us with an elevator, ans, of course our volunteers always available.
If the weather was mild in the morning, our volunteers worked under very heavy rain in the early afternoon.
Thanks to Antoine, Bruno, Dominique, Frédéric, Jean-Pierre, Roland for their availability and their efficiency, and to Martial, our chef, for his excellent meal.
