A delegation from Gütersloh visiting

Saturday, September 24, 2022 afternoon, our president welcomed Mrs. Maria UNGER, former mayor, and the delegation of Gütersloh, a town twinned with Châteauroux Métropole.

After a quick presentation of the history of the “La Martinerie” site and the association's showrooms, our visitors lingered for a long time in front of the recently set up display case presenting German cups from WW1, but also in front of our exhibition on Berlin, in front of our collection of trench art and in front of the panel recalling the presence of the Luftwaffe at La Martinerie (translated into German for the occasion) and in the hall of flags.

Thanks to Jean-Yves Hugon, deputy mayor in charge of twinning, for his translations of terms that he does not often use in his regular conversations in German.

Translation of the guestbook page :
THANK YOU for the very instructive and interesting visit of the “les Amis de La Martinerie” museum.
The delegation of the twin city of Gütersloh is pleasantly surprised by the number of artifacts on the military history of the department collected and presented to the inhabitants.
We pay tribute to the association and wish the museum many visitors, especially many interested students.
We thank the volunteers for the preparation of military history.
Our Châteauroux-Gütersloh twinning has existed for more than 45 years now and is a success story.
We look forward to many more visits, especially with our younger generations, who are the future!
