For 5 years, the Friends of La Martinerie (Les Amis de La Martinerie) have had the pleasure of welcoming the cadets of the Indre gendarmerie as part of their desire to maintain military memory in the Indre department.
Fewer cadets this year, a dozen, due to the change in the recruitment method, but young people motivated on the occasion of their 4th day of training.
Little change in their program, after participating in the raising of the colors, the cadets were welcomed by Jacques, who presented them with the history of the Martinerie base. The cadets were then able to discover the 10 exhibition rooms with Bruno and Martin to become aware of the importance of maintaining military memory.
After a frugal meal prepared by the mixed circle of the gendarmerie, the cadets were able to follow first aid training delivered by Alex Richard of the FFSS, learn the ranks of the gendarmerie with Pierre, discover and use the phonetic alphabet with Bruno, and understand, in anticipation of November 11, the organization of a patriotic ceremony with Paul and Martin.
After a well-deserved break, they were able to work on the Marseillaise with Véronique and Jean-François and improve their movements at a steady pace. The presentation of the caps, the presentation of the cadet 36 pennant and the lowering of the colors closed the day at the Friends of La Martinerie.
Like every year, we should soon meet the cadets as part of the orienteering race for which the Friends of La Martinerie will provide part of the logistics.
Thank you to our volunteers for their availability as well as to Paulette, Claudie and Jean-Jacques G, president and members of the board of cadet association 36.
