Recall that in July 2025, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” (The Friends of La Martinerie) received a donation from Mrs. Mauricette Petit: the museum belonging to her late husband, Michel, with the mission of ensuring that this private museum continues to live on.

Some of the materials owned by Mr. Michel Petit did not pertain to the museum dedicated to the military history of the Indre department.

Following a formal agreement, a portion of these documents was transferred to the Indre-et-Loire Departmental Archives. Additionally, through a separate agreement, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” transferred another part of the collection to the archives of Châteauroux Métropole, represented by its director, Jean-Louis Cirès.

In this way, the preservation work carried out by Mr. Petit is being valued, safeguarded, and, before long, enshrined in memory, perhaps even beyond his own expectations.
