You may recall that on September 3, 2025, we announced the transfer to SOFEMA, of the EBR vehicle entrusted to "Les Amis de La Martinerie" by the Ministry of the Armed Forces, via the Saumur Military Schools.
This temporary move for refurbishment was intended to give a visual facelift to this vehicle, which was widely used by the French Army starting in the early 1950s.
Châteauroux Métropole took the opportunity provided by this refurbishment to construct a concrete base, thereby improving the conditions in which the vehicle is preserved.
Everything has now been completed: the base is ready, the EBR has been restored to its former glory, and it is back in its spot at the "Les Amis de La Martinerie" site.
All that remains is to install the license plates...
A big thank you to Alban Leclair, Sébastien Pirot, and the SOFEMA teams, as well as to Gil Averous and his team at Châteauroux Métropole, for their partnership and their commitment to helping us preserve the military heritage of the Indre department.
Our next goal is to find a technical and/or financial partner to build a protective carport; this would shield the EBR from the elements while allowing for unobstructed photography (i.e., a design without posts on one side).
