Invited, as a partner, by the directors of the company BayWa r.e., “les Amis de la Martinerie” were thanked at length by the various speakers, Benoit Roux, director of BayWa r.e. France, François Jolivet Member of the french Parliament for the Indre department, Gil Avérous President of Châteauroux Métropole, during the inauguration of the second solar park in the southern zone of the former La Martinerie base.

Partner from day one, helping with the paperwork associated with the park establishment, providing their knowledge of the history of the area, the location of the buildings, the areas at risk of pyrotechnics, etc. “Les Amis de la Martinerie” also participated to the writing of the display about the history of the base and are still present alongside the company BayWa r.e. during the educational visits of the BlueBerry and Greenberry solar farms.

Established on 70 ha, these two farms consist of 157,000 photovoltaic panels which produce renewable energy for 18,500 homes, the equivalent of half of the homes in the town of Châteauroux.

A partnership which started from the construction of the first farm and the possibility given to our volunteers to carry out research during the preparatory work, thus making it possible to present, in a display case, some of the objects found on the site, including those found by BayWa r.e.

BayWa r.e. also decided to help the association by participating in the financing of the reconstruction of a US prefabricated building, near la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire, to house a memory room dedicated to the presence of NATO in the Indre department.

It is worth noting that we welcomed around thirty visitors at the end of the inaugural ceremonie and around fifty more as part of the “Factory Secrets” operation initiated by the Indre Attractiveness Agency.
