Upcoming events

The Annual General Meeting of “les Amis de La Martinerie” took place in front of 122 members, untrusted with 83 power of attorney.
The group met at the Montierchaume community center, thanks to Mr. Guérineau, mayor of the city.

After thanking the authorities, partners and members for their presence, President Jean-Jacques Bérenguier, in his moral report, presented record figures: 479 memberships, as of December 31, 2023 (+ 20 compared to 2022), 1,635 visitors (1,460 in 2023), a significant increase in financial donations, items donations, events and visits.

Only one downside, the obligation to close the premises during the duration of the Olympic Games, from July 1 to September 15, 2024, due to the close proximity of the Olympic village and the associated security measures imposed by Paris 2024. Negotiations are underway for a softening of this closure period.

The activity report, presented by Francine Niémier, demonstrated the intense activity of the association including, among other things, the welcoming of students from various primary schools. The financial report presented by Roland de Vassoigne is very satisfactory but reveals an increase in fixed costs (electricity, insurance, building security...) which are higher than the amounts of money collected through memberships. Fortunately, the remaining costs can be covered by donations to the association (including donations from our own members) and by the presence of numerous partners at our side.

Before closing the AGM and sharing the excellent king cakes offered by Sophie and Frédéric Joseph, pastry bakers at Chezal Benoit, the president spoke of the new projects for 2024: the creation of a traveling exhibition for retirement homes and EHPADs, the creation of a presentation booklet , in 3 languages, for “la maison de la mémoire militaire”, the set up of an exhibition, with the help of other associations, on November 9, 10 and 11, 2024 in Châteauroux...
