It was on Thursday, October 26 that “Les Amis de la Martinerie” welcomed the new class of gendarmerie cadets of the Indre departemtn for their 4th day of training.
These 27 young cadets have already participated in phase 1 of the SNU (Universal National Service) and have chosen to join the gendarmerie cadets for phase 2 of their SNU.
A rendez-vous that became a tradition over the years, with, in the morning, the visit of “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” and, in the afternoon, the use of our premises for classes about first aid and transmissions in the context of the gendarme profession. Let’s not forget the review of all the verses and chorus of La Marseillaise as well as the learning of the basics of close order with a reservist gendarme.
Thanks to Sylvine Smith, choir director, for her presence alongside “les Amis de La Martinerie” and the Gendarmerie Cadets, to Alex Richard, first aid instructor from the FFSS (French Federation of Rescuers), for his first time alongside us , to Marie, Bruno, Dominique, Jean-Jacques and Roland, our volunteers, for their investment in welcoming the Cadets of the Gendarmerie.
The Gendarmerie cadet association was represented by Claudie Chrétien and Jean-Jacques Gasset and the gendarmerie by Commander Eric Habasque and Major (r) Pierre Loeillet.
This is also the first time that the cadets received their garrison caps on “les Amis de La Martinerie” premises.
