Events

A dedicated participant in the Friends of La Martinerie initiative for the past four years, Laurent Renaudet joined us on Thursday, March 12, with a class of ninth graders, and again on Friday, March 13, with a second class, for a day exploring the Departmental House of Military History as part of their civic education program.

Upon returning from the school holidays, each student will have to submit a written (and graded) logbook of the morning's visit to their teacher:

ico-vrai The La Martinerie site, its military history, its evolution…
ico-vrai A quick tour of the various exhibition rooms.

During the afternoon, the teacher formed groups of four students for a team project on a given theme (4 to 5 PowerPoint slides with commentary).

Each group will then have to present their work to the rest of the class after the holidays.

Each group of students is accompanied by a volunteer from the association.

This project can be presented orally for the French National Diploma (Brevet).

The themes chosen by the teacher are:

ico-crayon Theme 1: The First World War (1914-1918), the Americans at Montierchaume during the First World War.

ico-crayon Theme 2: The military history of the Indre region through its flags.

ico-crayon Theme 3: Military service, conscription, discharge, the 100th day of service, the barracks

ico-crayon Theme 4: The American base (with the participation of a key witness).

ico-crayon Theme 5: The 90th Infantry Regiment, its participation in the First World War, and gas protection.

ico-crayon Topic 6: The Army Health Service in the Indre Department / Military Hospitals in Châteauroux during World War I

ico-crayon Topic 7: Aviation in the Indre Department - Its Evolution (from the pilot training school in 1915 to the pilot training school in 1945).

Thanks to Bruno, Clémence, Jean-Jacques, François, Frédéric, Gérard, Jean-Yves, Martial, Philippe, Rémi, Roland, and the two Yves for their availability and responsiveness.
